What is the virtual store installation?

When we are offered the service of setting up a virtual store, what does it really mean?

There isn’t a specific definition that applies to all cases; it depends on the project itself.

However, generally speaking, we can outline the following steps:

First, determining with the client all the requirements to be implemented and evaluating possible alternatives. For example, setting up a store with 10 products is different from setting up one with 100 products.

Second, once all definitions are in place, a domain is usually acquired to access the store, and a hosting service is contracted to store the online store with the required project specifications.

Third, with access to the hosting service, the corresponding software is installed using an installer like PrestaShop.

Fourth, after the installation is complete, all necessary configurations and customizations are made, including payment and shipping methods, and styling according to the defined design.

Fifth, store content is entered, such as categories, products or services, and all static and legal content. Generally, the client provides this information as they have a clear understanding of their own content.

Subsequently, with all the previous steps completed, various scenarios are tested to validate the store’s behavior and detect possible functional errors.

Finally, if everything is satisfactory, the store is activated in production for public access, and the virtual store setup is considered complete.

Of course, ongoing follow-up is conducted for a specified period to detect potential errors, implement improvements, or adjust configurations.
